Breast Reconstruction Awareness Meetings at the Royal Women's Hospital
Treasure Chest is funding Breast Reconstruction Awareness Meetings at the Royal Women's Hospital. We know that 'information is power' and these meetings aim to give participants the information required to make the best decision for each individual.
In summary BRA ( Breast reconstruction awareness ) meetings were established to provide women considering breast reconstruction an opportunity to meet women who have previously had breast reconstruction. During these meetings they usually manage to have 5-7 volunteers and anything from 10-20 onlookers.
The ladies considering breast reconstruction are permitted to bring one female support person. BRA nights are run in the hope of helping women feel empowered in their decision making, by talking to their peers in a supported environment.
